The 7th edition of Envol et Macadam’s Planetrox audition is here!

Quebec City, April 20th, 2017– Musicians and music lovers, get ready! Today, Envol et Macadam is announcing the return of the Planetrox auditions, which aim to bring the best local and international emerging bands to Quebec City. Since beginning in 2011, the auditions have allowed Envol et Macadam to establish strong ties to the international community and showcase dozens of alternative bands from all over the world, delighting both fans of new music and the emerging artists, who are given the chance to gain greater visibility.
The Planetrox project was established in collaboration with the City of Quebec. It is an international competition and its mission is to discover the best emerging bands from each of the participating countries, and to then present them to the festival’s audience. The 2017 edition will give music lovers the chance to discover talent from ten participating countries (Canada, the United States, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Indonesia, Japan and the Czech Republic) who will perform on the festival’s stages in Quebec City from September 7thto 9th. The PLANETROX auditions thus provide Quebec City with an opportunity for international exposure, all the while bringing a unique dimension to the festival.
Registration begins for PLANETROX Quebec
The Quebec auditions are open to all applicants, and registration will take place online from April 19thto May 22nd, 2017. The five Quebec finalists will be announced on May 24th. The selected groups will then be invited to perform in the official finals to be held at L’Anti Bar & Spectacles on Wednesday, June 14that 8pm. Canadian band Fake Shark will be present for this night of high-calibre music and will play during the deliberations.
The band who wins the official finals will be given the opportunity to perform during the Envol et Macadam festival in September. It’s a unique experience that will allow the winners to play in front of an audience who is eager to discover new alternative bands.
