Envol et Macadam is celebrating its 25th anniversary with NOFX, Stick To Your Guns, Souldia, Terror, Despised Icon and many others

The Envol et Macadam team is in a festive mood today and we are thrilled to unveil the lineup for the festival’s 25th edition, which will be held from September 15th to the 17th, 2022. After a 2021 stint at the Canac stadium, we are going back to Parc de l’Îlot Fleurie, with a special feature at the Old Port Agora, as well as several indoor shows. Presented in collaboration with Le Trou du Diable and District 7 Production, this special anniversary edition is an opportunity to reconnect with festival-goers, artists, our many valued partners and the community and to showcase alternative music in all its diversity.

Coming Together to Celebrate

Kicking off with indoor shows on Thursday, September 15th, Scanner Bistro will be hosting Toronto punk bands Doghouse Rose and The Anti-Queens. L’Anti Bar & Spectacles will also be seeing some action with performances by Hidden Bliss, The Johans and Montreal’s Yesterday’s Ring.

Following last year’s hugely successful hip-hop event, Envol et Macadam has decided to repeat the experience with an entire evening devoted to the genre. On Friday, September 16th, SMZ, Melvin, Whitie, Dan L’Initié, Jay Jay and Taktika will take the stage at the Parc de lÎlot Fleurie. Quebec City native Souldia—who wowed the crowds at Canac Stadium last year despite the challenges associated with the health measures at the time—will be returning to deliver another exhilarating performance. This time; with the prospect of reaching a wider audience.

On Saturday, September 17th, metal, hardcore and punk rock will dominate two separate venues. The stage of the Old Port Agora—which hosted an unforgettable Rise Against performance in 2011—will be graced by none other than veteran Californian punk rockers NOFX. Quebec City’s own The Hunters will be rising from the ashes to get the ball rolling, followed by the Montreal quartet Nobro. Presented in collaboration with Evenko and District 7 Production.

Over at Parc de l’Îlot Fleurie, performances will be starting in the afternoon. Featuring an impressive roster of artists known for their intense powerful sounds such as Peer Pressure, Fazed Out, Feels Like Home, Foreign Hands, Koyo, Belmont, Get The Shot, Kublai Khan, Terror, Despised Icon and Stick To Your Guns. This high-decibel high-energy package deal is sure to please fans of the genre. Other artists are yet to be announced and will be added to the lineup in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

A Forum for Art, Creativity and Community

Introduced by Envol et Macadam in 2019, Marché Alternatif has quickly become a popular part of the festival and aligns perfectly with its mission: showcasing the talent and know-how of artists and artisans from the alternative scene. Numerous creations will be displayed and available for sale onsite. The Marché will be back for this edition and will be open to all at no charge.

Another exciting artistic feature will be added to the program thanks to our new collaboration with Espace Sherpa. Stunning exuberant works of art co-created by Dada artists Mimi Traillette, Moody Swing, Jacques Morin and other members of the community will be on exhibit during the festival. Led by a passionate team, Espace Sherpa welcomes everyone and offers a myriad of possibilities, bridging the gaps through art and citizen civic engagement.

Tickets

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, June 30th at 10:00 a.m. There will be no event passports this year, only single-day tickets. They will be available for purchase on the Envol et Macadam website and at EXOSHOP. Ticket holders for outdoor shows will also have access to indoor shows.
