Orloge Simard
Orloge Simard has been an irreverent rock band since 2012. Their music is combative, while their lyrics are the result of an uncadrified anthropological analysis. Over the years, many fans across Quebec have witnessed the phenomenon and branded their loyalty to the Orlogesque cult with a red-hot iron: sold-out shows at Montreal’s Club Soda, Quebec City’s Impérial Bell, the Festival d’été de Québec, as well as numerous venues throughout the province. Each performance by the band is unique and guided by an ethylic sense of freedom.
This brigade from La Baie in the Saguenay region is made up of singer and guitarist Olivier Simard, bassist Guillaume Bouchard, drummer Maxime Bouchard, keyboardist Andy Ellefsen, and guitarist Jimmy Descôteaux—characters who stand out for their exceptional sex appeal.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the band, they released their fourth album on September 23, 2022, titled Culture du culte. Like a manifesto, this anti-censorship opus promotes an artistic movement that includes a sustainable development component—the only form of art that truly endures over time. Devotion does not rot.
Culture du culte is a religion that makes room for truth, for intelligent nonchalance, for Orloge Simard, and for all those who wish to follow the untouchable and intangible force of extreme adulation of authentic beauty.
This phenomenon unfolds like a sculpture of Baie-river gods rising from the midst of the ruins of a beautiful but bygone past. Orloge Simard are ready to spread the art of brawling—the only visceral and necessary form of art.
