Pasteur Papillon
A long-distance wanderer, Pasteur Papillon travels through the worlds of Americana, blues, and outlaw country at his own pace, in his own language. Through uncompromising lyrics, he offers music that is sometimes rhythmic and contemplative, sometimes sharp and biting, often festive, but always sincere.
Carrying a vibrant musical journey that led him through the labyrinths of New York and London before bringing him back to his rural hometown, Pasteur Papillon has left behind the world of nightlife and neon lights in favor of dawn, breaking light, and the rustling of leaves. Yet the road is never far away—it still pulses through his catchy, driving choruses.
His music does not shy away from introspection: his many past lives provide more than enough fuel to write a thousand songs. Surrounded by seasoned musicians, he delivers well-crafted music rooted in American traditions, brought back into a French that feels close to everyday life.
In April 2024, Pasteur Papillon released his new EP Cocorico, because the day must eventually break. This new project, true to his country rock style, marks a return to joy and lightness after the deep explorations of his previous album On va sauver ce qui reste. After redemption comes celebration, and for him, it takes the form of honky-tonk and boogie-woogie colors.
In 2025, Pasteur Papillon closed the year with the release of a personal and self-titled album, Urubu, gospel d’un charognard, while also opening for Sara Dufour and Orloge Simard on several dates during their respective tours.
