Reanimator

Since its formation in 2005 by Patrick Martin and Maxime Cormier, Reanimator has established itself as a key figure in the Quebec thrash metal scene. Skillfully blending old-school sounds with modern influences, the quintet delivers abrasive, fast, and uncompromising metal, ready to make your ears bleed and tear down walls.
From their debut album Thrashin’ the Neighborhood (Galy Records, 2007), the band toured Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes, building a reputation with electrifying performances that leave a lasting impression. In 2009, they solidified their place with Ignorance Is No Excuse, their first full-length album, which allowed them to share the stage with legends such as Municipal Waste, Exodus, Cryptopsy, Martyr, Macabre, and many others.
After nearly 100 shows, the band took a break in 2011… only to come back stronger in 2013 with the EP Great Balls, featuring a tighter lineup around founding members Patrick Martin (vocals) and Francis Labelle (drums), joined by Fred Bizier (bass), Joël Racine, and Ludovic Bastien (guitars). Their comeback was explosive: in addition to a series of shows across Canada, they embarked on a two-week tour in Eastern Europe in 2014.
In 2015, they released Horns Up, an album acclaimed by critics and widely played on university and independent radio stations in Canada and the United States. The album was nominated for “Heavy Album of the Year” at the 2015 GAMIQ Awards. This was followed by a nationwide Canadian tour that took the band all the way to the Pacific coast.
After Ludovic left in 2017, replaced by Philippe Lemire (Dance Laury Dance), Reanimator took advantage of the global pandemic break to write and record Commotion, a new album released in summer 2022. Stronger than ever, they’re ready to hit the road again to defend their new tracks and bring their classics back to life.
