Nova Spei
Nova Spei, a French-speaking metal band from Quebec, released its self-titled debut album while opening for Anonymus during their Quebec tour in December 2017. In 2019, the band toured most major cities across Quebec, once again opening for Anonymus during their 30th anniversary tour. Since its formation, Nova Spei has performed more than 100 shows across Quebec and Ontario.
The band was formed in 2012 by Dany Soucy (guitar) (Dook, Legion). Nicolas Dumais (bass) joined in 2014, and Julien De Carufel (drums) came in August 2021. Finally, in 2025, Cédrick Charland (lead guitar) and Emmanuelle Desbiens-Dubois (vocals) joined the lineup, shaping the group into its current formation.
In 2017, their debut album was produced and recorded in their home studio in Champlain, then mixed, produced, and mastered in France by Anthony Chognard (Smash Hit Combo, CHSprod). Their single “L’homme aux 1000 Sourires” receives regular airplay on RadioX 98.1 FM in Québec City, and their song “Ma Muse,” along with several other tracks, has been played (and remains in rotation) during Montreal Canadiens games at the Bell Centre.
2019 marked the beginning of the recording process for their second album, titled SEQUENTIS. The first single, “Qui Sème Le Vent,” was released in November 2019, but due to the pandemic, the album’s release was postponed by two years, finally arriving on November 12, 2021.
After several lineup changes, 2026 saw the band reunited in full and ready to hit the road again. An album titled TRINITAS is now in preparation for fall 2026, with the goal of bringing the live energy of Nova Spei back to the stage.
