“The Pits”—as in rock bottom, bad luck, sweaty armpits… but also cherries. Penny & The Pits is the new project from Penelope Stevens of Motherhood, a key figure in the Maritime music scene.

Liquid Compactor, their debut artistic statement, is a raw and fearless punk rock album that embodies feminist joy, rage, and revenge, transforming pain into power through the symbolic element of water. Bathtubs come to a boil. Menstrual blood is invoked as a source of strength. The local bar louts are haunted until they’re sweating through their shirts. Yet every drop of darkness is met with flashes of lightness. Penny & The Pits is a celebration of healing disguised as a gloriously unhinged joyride.
