Québec, September 11th, 2018
It’s Saturday night that Envol et Macadam’s 23rd edition ended, after three days of shows that spoiled all music lovers. Overall, more than 15,000 people attended this edition, whose varied programming made alternative music flourish in all its diversity at l’Îlot Fleurie and many other of the festival’s scenes, in the heart of the capital.

Thursday night, the crowd was treated to a robust introduction with the shows offered at La Salle Multi of the Complexe Méduse, especially with the band Get The Shot who served a performance of great intensity.Friday evening, the site of l’Îlot Fleurie greated festival-goers who appreciate bands with varied musical horizons including Grimskunk, No Fun At All, the Quebec formation Les Ghoules who presented that evening its one and the only show of the year, as well as Bernard Adamus, who was making a come back after a year of absence. On Saturday, we made room for heavy music while metalcore sounds occupied the spotlight. Several bands including Obey The Brave, The Devil Wears Prada, August Burns Red and Parkway Drive offered the crowd their boosted and decibel-charged performances. The beautiful weather that has been part of this edition has made the event even more magical for festival-goers at l’Îlot Fleurie and at la Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale, where the stage dedicated to electronic music was installed.

A lot of music lovers were also present at the many after-shows, making l’Anti Bar & Spectacles, Le Scanner, Le Knock-Out, la Salle Multi of Le Complex Méduse and Le Dagobert the busy places. This nocturnal aspect has revealed once again the talent and creativity of emerging bands that Envol and Macadam finds with its Planetrox project. From international headliners to emerging artists, these are formations from a total of twelve countries that performed at the festival this year and were able to showcase their art to an audience eager to discover.
