The 24.5 edition of the Envol et Macadam festival will take place this week in a brand-new location: Stade Canac! Presented in collaboration with District 7 Production, the event will feature some twenty bands from Quebec and Canada and will thus offer music lovers the first major outdoor concerts in front of an audience in the Capitale-Nationale since the start of the pandemic.

The 2021 line-up explores alternative music’s different horizons to satisfy as many festivalgoers as possible. From rock to hip-hop, punk to metal, hardcore to deathcore: this edition’s musical line-up is all about diversity and every evening of shows will be a distinctive experience. Despised Icon, Souldia, Voivoid, GrimSkunk, The Planet Smashers, Comeback Kid, Shreez, Drogue, MCM, Mute and several other groups will rock the stadium starting this Thursday.

Art also has its place at Envol et Macadam! The alternative market will be back this year and will allow festivalgoers to discover the many talents of local artisans and get their hands on t-shirts, posters, embroidery, macaroons, jewelry and other unique creations. A must for lovers of underground music and art.

The vaccine passport, a major challenge
With the restrictions still in effect and the health situation changing regularly, the preparation of the 2021 edition had already required a lot of adaptation and creativity from the organization of Envol et Macadam since last spring. The decision to move the event from Îlot Fleurie to Stade Canac in order to hold the festival there with assigned seating is one of the many solutions found by the team to be able to present the event.

The implementation of the vaccine passport on September 1, less than 10 days before the start of the festival, added to the many challenges already involved in the presentation of this edition. The organization has tried by all means to benefit from certain easing to make the festival accessible to as many people as possible, but unfortunately, these requests have all been turned down.

The vaccination passport is therefore required to attend the festival. A photo ID will also be requested at the entrance.
