Juan D. Casas a.k.a Cosmic JD is a Colombian-born Producer and DJ based in Toronto,
Canada. Highly regarded as a key player in the underground house and techno community both
in the city and abroad.

As the founder of Toronto’s Hypnotic Mindscapes collective, JD and his crew organize intimate
parties curated with advanced house and techno, featuring groundbreaking international
bookings, often performing for the first time in Toronto or Canada. With a unique blend of styles
within the spectrum of techno, house, electro and beyond – JD & The Hypnotic Mindscapes
crew have become a Toronto staple when it comes to all things underground. Wether is playing
records or an all-hardware live set, a key focus on detail to selection and performance has taken
him to play gigs in cities such as Montreal, NYC, Berlin, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Bogota,
Reykjavik, Buenos Aires among others.

On the production end, JD has received quick notoriety with his records on Seekers, Melcure,
Mode of Expression, Subsequent and more recently on the Varme imprint. A talent behind the
decks, in the studio, and behind the scenes, JD’s drive, skills and continued commitment to the
underground make him an artist to keep watch on.
